Adorable and easy-to-make mummy hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough, perfect for Halloween parties, school events, or a fun family dinner. Ready in under 25 minutes with just three simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) standard-size hot dogs (preferably beef)
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough (sheet-style, not perforated triangles)
  • Yellow mustard (for the eyes)
  • Optional: ketchup, ranch dressing, or sriracha mayo for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent roll dough carefully. Unroll the dough onto a cutting board. If using perforated triangle sheets, press the seams together gently to create one solid rectangle. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide (8 to 10 strips per can).
  3. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a strip of dough around it, leaving a small gap near the top for the ‘face.’ Don’t wrap too tightly—leave a little space between each wrap so the hot dog peeks through. Wrap at a slight angle, overlapping the dough a bit, for a more textured mummy look.
  4. Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between each one.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffy and the hot dogs are heated through. For a darker, crispier crust, bake the full 15 minutes.
  6. While the mummies are still warm, dip a toothpick into yellow mustard and dot two small eyes near the top of each mummy, close together for a cute expression.
  7. Let the mummies cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet before serving. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Don’t over-wrap the hot dogs—a few strategic wraps are more effective. For a golden crust, you can brush the dough with melted butter or an egg wash before baking, but it’s optional. The mummies can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the refrigerator. To freeze, bake and cool completely, then freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3 minutes.
