A creamy, tangy whipped feta dip with a sweet-spicy hot honey drizzle and crunchy toasted walnuts, perfect for entertaining or casual snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Greek yogurt, full-fat or 2%
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) hot honey
  • 1/4 cup (30 grams) toasted walnuts, roughly chopped
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme or oregano sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned. Transfer to a plate and let cool.
  2. In a food processor, blend the crumbled feta cheese and Greek yogurt until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the extra virgin olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and minced garlic (if using). Pulse briefly to combine.
  4. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste. No additional salt is needed.
  5. Spoon the whipped feta dip into a serving bowl and smooth the top with the back of a spoon.
  6. Drizzle hot honey evenly over the dip. Add a pinch of chili flakes if extra heat is desired.
  7. Sprinkle toasted walnuts on top and garnish with fresh thyme or oregano leaves if using.
  8. Serve immediately at room temperature or chill for 30 minutes to meld flavors. Bring back to room temperature before serving for best texture.

Notes

Use a good-quality feta packed in brine for creamier texture. Toast walnuts carefully to avoid burning. Adjust hot honey spice level to taste. Soaking dry feta in water for 10 minutes before blending can improve creaminess. Serve at room temperature for best flavor and texture. Can be made ahead and stored covered in fridge for up to 3 days; add hot honey and walnuts just before serving.
