A creamy, fizzy, and spooky Halloween punch made with orange sherbet, ginger ale, and citrus juices. Perfect for parties, it’s quick to prepare and guaranteed to delight kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 quart (about 4 cups) orange sherbet (e.g., Breyers or Häagen-Dazs)
  • 2 liters (67.6 oz) ginger ale (e.g., Canada Dry)
  • 2 cups (16 oz) pineapple juice (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup (8 oz) orange juice (not from concentrate)
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (2 oz) grenadine (e.g., Rose’s)
  • Halloween candy eyes (for garnish)
  • Gummy worms or spiders (for garnish)
  • Dry ice (optional, for spooky effect)

Instructions

  1. Chill your punch bowl in the freezer for at least 15-20 minutes before serving.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine pineapple juice, orange juice, and lemon juice. Stir gently. Can be done up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerated.
  3. Pour ginger ale into the chilled punch bowl slowly to minimize fizz loss.
  4. Slowly pour the juice mixture into the ginger ale. Stir gently with a ladle just a few strokes to combine.
  5. Using an ice cream scoop, add 6-8 large scoops of orange sherbet to the punch. Let them float without stirring.
  6. Slowly drizzle grenadine over the top to create a layered effect.
  7. Float candy eyes on top and arrange gummy worms crawling up the sides of the bowl or over cup rims.
  8. If using dry ice, use tongs to add small pieces to the punch. Ensure guests are aware and do not ingest dry ice.
  9. Serve immediately, ladling into cups with some sherbet in each serving.

Notes

Temperature is key: let sherbet sit at room temperature for 5-7 minutes before scooping. Don’t skip chilling the punch bowl. For best results, use Canada Dry ginger ale. If making ahead, mix juices only; add ginger ale and sherbet just before serving. For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free orange sorbet. For an adult version, add 1 cup vodka or coconut rum.
