A quick and easy watermelon slushie made with just three ingredients—watermelon, ice, and a touch of sweetener—for a refreshing summer treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600 grams) ripe watermelon chunks, seeds removed
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups (240 to 360 ml) ice cubes, slightly crushed
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey, agave syrup, or simple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut watermelon into 1-2 inch chunks and remove seeds. Measure 4 cups (600 grams).
  2. Crush ice slightly using a rolling pin or pulse in blender. Use 1 to 1 ½ cups (240 to 360 ml).
  3. Add watermelon chunks, crushed ice, and 1 tablespoon sweetener into blender. Optionally add 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice.
  4. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until slushie consistency is reached. Scrape sides if needed. Adjust texture by adding more ice or watermelon juice if necessary.
  5. Taste and add more sweetener if desired, then blend briefly again.
  6. Serve immediately in chilled glasses, garnished with a watermelon wedge or mint sprig.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best flavor. Crush ice slightly before blending to protect blender blades. Serve immediately for best texture. Variations include adding frozen pineapple, mango, or a splash of rum for a boozy version. For vegan or refined sugar-free, use agave or maple syrup. Fresh lime juice can brighten flavor if watermelon is less sweet.
