A quick and easy frozen strawberry margarita with a salty rim, perfect for cooling down on hot summer days. This recipe balances sweet strawberries, tangy lime, and a savory salt rim for a refreshing cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (300g) frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup (240ml) tequila blanco
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) triple sec or Cointreau
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) simple syrup
  • 1 to 2 cups (240 to 480ml) ice cubes
  • Coarse salt (for rim)
  • Lime wedges (for rimming glasses)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glasses: Pour coarse salt onto a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass to moisten it, then dip the rims into the salt, twisting to coat evenly. Set aside.
  2. Blend the margarita: In a blender, combine frozen strawberries, tequila blanco, triple sec, freshly squeezed lime juice, simple syrup, and ice cubes. Blend on high until smooth and slushy. Adjust consistency by adding water or lime juice if too thick, or more frozen strawberries or ice if too thin.
  3. Serve immediately: Pour the blended margarita into the prepared salt-rimmed glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge or small strawberry on the rim.

Notes

Use a good-quality 100% agave blanco or silver tequila for best flavor. Adjust sweetness by tasting and modifying simple syrup. Use coarse salt for the rim for better texture. Blend just before serving to maintain icy texture. For a spicy twist, mix chili powder with salt for the rim or add jalapeño slices to the blender.
