This quick air fryer salmon with lemon butter is a weeknight win—crispy, flaky, and ready in under 15 minutes. Simple ingredients and easy steps make it a go-to for busy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz or 170g each)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (30g), melted
  • 1 whole lemon (juice and zest)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill or parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes for heat (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Season the salmon generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice (about 1 tablespoon), lemon zest (from half the lemon), and minced garlic. Set aside about a tablespoon of this mixture for drizzling at the end.
  5. Brush or spoon the lemon butter mixture over the top of each salmon fillet.
  6. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if using skin-on) in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  7. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, depending on thickness, until the top is golden and the fish flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature of 125°F to 130°F or 52°C to 54°C).
  8. Remove the salmon carefully using tongs and transfer to a plate or serving platter.
  9. Drizzle the reserved lemon butter sauce over the top.
  10. Garnish with fresh dill or parsley and a few lemon slices if desired.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry thoroughly for crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Let the salmon rest for 1-2 minutes after cooking. For dairy-free, substitute butter with olive oil or avocado oil.
