A creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip made lighter with cottage cheese and Greek yogurt. Perfect for game day, potlucks, or a quick weeknight treat, this dip delivers all the flavor with fewer calories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1/2 cup Frank’s RedHot Original Sauce
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (about 1 1/2 breasts)
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (plus more for topping)
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Celery sticks, carrot sticks, cucumber rounds (for serving)
  • Whole wheat crackers or tortilla chips (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend the cottage cheese in a blender or food processor until completely smooth, about 30 seconds. Set aside.
  2. Soften the cream cheese in the microwave for 15-20 seconds if needed.
  3. In a skillet over medium-low heat, combine the softened cream cheese, blended cottage cheese, and Greek yogurt. Stir constantly until smooth and combined, about 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the Frank’s RedHot and stir. The mixture will thin slightly but will thicken as it cooks.
  5. Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated and heated through, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add the shredded cheddar and blue cheese (if using). Stir until fully melted and gooey, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Optional: Transfer the dip to a small baking dish, sprinkle extra cheddar on top, and broil for 2-3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives. Serve hot with your choice of dippers.

Notes

For a thicker dip, let it simmer uncovered for an extra 2-3 minutes. If too thick after chilling, add a splash of milk when reheating. This dip can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 4 days. Not recommended for freezing.
