A quick and easy snack board featuring crisp apples, creamy brie, sharp cheddar, and rich caramel sauce. Perfect for a romantic date night or a cozy evening in, this board comes together in under 10 minutes with simple, fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (e.g., Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
  • 4 oz brie cheese
  • 3 oz sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup good quality caramel sauce (preferably salted)
  • 1/3 cup mixed nuts (toasted pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Cut one apple in half through the stem, place cut side down, and slice into thin half-moons about 1/4-inch thick. Repeat with the other apple. For variety, cut the second apple into matchstick-like strips. Aim for 20-24 slices total.
  2. Cut the brie into 6-8 thin wedges, leaving the rind on. Slice the sharp cheddar into thin triangular wedges or small rectangles (about 8-10 pieces).
  3. Optional: Toast the nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant, shaking frequently. Let cool.
  4. Pour the caramel sauce into one small bowl and the honey into another small bowl. If caramel is thick, warm in microwave for 10 seconds.
  5. Place the small bowls on the board. Arrange apple slices in a fan pattern or clusters around the bowls. Place brie wedges in one area and cheddar in another. Scatter toasted nuts in empty spaces. Tuck rosemary sprigs between ingredients. Sprinkle the entire board with flaky sea salt.
  6. Serve immediately with small plates, napkins, and a cheese knife.

Notes

For best results, let brie sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving. To prevent apple browning, toss slices with a tablespoon of lemon juice. This board is best enjoyed immediately. Leftovers can be stored separately: apples in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a day, cheese wrapped in wax paper in the fridge, nuts at room temperature.
