This quick and easy Halloween punch comes together in just 5 minutes with simple ingredients like fruit punch, lemon-lime soda, and sherbet. The melting sherbet creates a bubbling, swirling potion effect that kids love, making it perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (950 ml) fruit punch (e.g., Hawaiian Punch)
  • 2 cups (475 ml) lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7-Up)
  • 1 cup (150 g) purple or orange sherbet (e.g., Blue Bell or Breyers)
  • 1 cup (140 g) frozen mixed berries (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • For garnish: gummy worms, plastic spiders, or orange slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the fruit punch and lemon-lime soda in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving (optional but recommended).
  2. Set up a large punch bowl or pitcher. Add a few ice cubes if desired.
  3. Pour the 4 cups of fruit punch into the bowl. Slowly add the 2 cups of lemon-lime soda. Stir gently with a wooden spoon.
  4. If using, drop in the 1 cup of frozen mixed berries.
  5. Just before serving, use an ice cream scoop to add the 1 cup of sherbet to the punch. Do not stir; let it float on top.
  6. Add garnishes like gummy worms, plastic spiders, or orange slices for a spooky touch.
  7. Ladle the punch into cups, making sure each cup gets some sherbet and berries. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, do not stir the sherbet—let it melt on its own to create the bubbling effect. Chill all ingredients beforehand to keep the punch cold. If the punch isn’t bubbly enough, add a splash of extra lemon-lime soda just before serving. For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk-based sherbet or skip the sherbet and add sparkling water.
