A quick and easy homemade summer drink combining fresh watermelon, lime, and mint for ultimate refreshment. Perfect for cooling down on hot days with a naturally hydrating and low-calorie beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600 grams) seedless watermelon, cubed and chilled
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 to 2 limes)
  • 2 cups (475 ml) cold water
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons agave syrup or honey (optional)
  • 8 to 10 fresh mint leaves, torn or lightly bruised
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cut chilled seedless watermelon into cubes (about 4 cups or 600 grams), removing any seeds if necessary.
  2. Place watermelon cubes into a blender and add 2 cups (475 ml) of cold water. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until silky smooth.
  3. (Optional) Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher, pressing down on the pulp to extract juice.
  4. Stir in 2 to 3 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice. Taste and add 1 to 2 tablespoons of agave syrup or honey if desired for sweetness. Add a tiny pinch of salt.
  5. Tear or bruise 8 to 10 fresh mint leaves and stir into the juice. Let sit for 5-10 minutes to infuse flavor.
  6. Transfer to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice. Garnish with extra mint leaves or a lime wedge if desired.

Notes

Adjust sweetness based on watermelon ripeness. Use a pinch of salt to enhance flavor. Chilling watermelon cubes before blending keeps the drink cold without watering it down. Bruise mint leaves gently to release oils without bitterness. Straining is optional depending on preferred texture.
