A simple, creamy Halloween punch made with orange juice, vanilla ice cream, and lemon-lime soda. It comes together in minutes and looks spooky with gummy worms and a frozen hand.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups orange juice (pulp-free preferred)
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (good-quality, like Häagen-Dazs or Blue Bell)
  • 2 cups lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7UP)
  • Gummy worms (optional, for garnish)
  • Plastic spiders or eyeballs (optional, for garnish)
  • Orange juice ice cubes (optional, for garnish)
  • Frozen hand ice mold (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your ingredients: About 30 minutes before serving, put orange juice and lemon-lime soda in the fridge to chill.
  2. Make orange juice ice cubes (optional): Pour orange juice into an ice cube tray and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight. Add a gummy worm to each cube before freezing for a fun surprise.
  3. Prepare the frozen hand (optional): Fill a clean latex glove with water, tie the end, and freeze for at least 8 hours or overnight. Run under warm water to loosen, then peel off the glove.
  4. Combine the base ingredients: In a large punch bowl or pitcher, pour in 4 cups chilled orange juice and 2 cups chilled lemon-lime soda. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Add the ice cream: Scoop 2 cups vanilla ice cream into the bowl. Let it float for a minute, then gently stir a few times to create a creamy, pale orange color.
  6. Add garnishes: Drop in gummy worms, plastic spiders, or other decorations. Place the frozen hand in the center and add orange juice ice cubes around the edges.
  7. Serve immediately: Ladle into cups, ensuring each cup gets a garnish. Best enjoyed within 30 minutes.

Notes

Don’t over-stir to keep carbonation. Use a clear bowl for best presentation. Keep ingredients cold. Scale up by keeping ratios: 2 parts orange juice, 1 part ice cream, 1 part soda. For dairy-free, use dairy-free vanilla ice cream. For lower sugar, use sparkling water or diet soda and no-sugar-added orange juice. For an adult version, add vanilla vodka or orange liqueur.
