These Easy Patriotic Brownie Bites are quick, fudgy, and festive treats perfect for Fourth of July and other celebrations, featuring red, white, and blue sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (95g) all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules (optional)
  • 1/3 cup (55g) red, white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy lifting.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs for 2-3 minutes until pale and slightly thickened.
  4. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and stir gently until combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and instant coffee granules if using.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined and thick.
  7. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle half the red, white, and blue sprinkles over the batter.
  8. Pour the remaining batter on top and smooth it out. Finish by sprinkling the remaining sprinkles.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking at 20 minutes with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs but no wet batter.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. Use the parchment overhang to lift brownies from the pan and cut into bite-sized squares.
  11. Optional: Chill brownies for 15 minutes before cutting for cleaner edges.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs for better mixing. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep brownies tender. Melt butter gently to avoid cooking eggs. Adding instant coffee enhances chocolate flavor without coffee taste. Add sprinkles halfway through baking to prevent color bleeding. Chill brownies before cutting for cleaner edges.
