These Kid-Approved Mummy Hot Dogs with Cheese Wrap are a lifesaver for busy families. Quick, easy, and made with simple ingredients, they are perfect for Halloween parties, school snacks, or fun weeknight dinners.

  • 8 beef or turkey hot dogs
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Mustard for eyes
  • Ketchup or ranch dressing for dipping (optional)
  • Pretzel sticks or carrot sticks on the side (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat each hot dog dry with a paper towel.
  3. Cut each slice of cheddar cheese in half lengthwise to make 8 thin strips.
  4. Wrap one strip of cheese around the center of each hot dog. Place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each.
  5. Open the can of crescent roll dough. If using perforated triangles, press seams together to form a rectangle. Unroll onto a cutting board.
  6. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide.
  7. Take a strip of dough and wrap it diagonally around a cheese-covered hot dog, leaving a small gap for the eyes. Use 2-3 strips per mummy. Press ends to seal.
  8. Place each wrapped mummy seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until dough is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes.
  11. Using a toothpick or squeeze bottle, dot two small eyes on the exposed end of each hot dog with yellow mustard.
  12. Serve warm with dipping sauces.
