These easy mummy hot dogs are a quick and fun Halloween snack made with hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough and topped with mustard eyes. Perfect for parties, they’re ready in under 25 minutes and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-size hot dogs
  • 1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard (for the eyes)
  • Cooking spray or butter (optional)
  • Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforations into 8 triangles.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice each triangle lengthwise into 3 to 4 thin strips, about ¼ inch wide.
  4. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a dough strip around it, starting at one end and working to the other. Leave a small gap near the top for the face. Overlap the strips slightly and press the ends gently to seal. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Tuck any loose dough ends underneath.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffy and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Dip a toothpick into yellow mustard and dot two small eyes onto the exposed hot dog area.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the mustard eyes, use a toothpick for better control. If the dough starts to unravel during baking, use a toothpick to pin it in place and remove before serving. These are best served warm.
