These Easy High-Protein Turkey Avocado Pinwheel Wraps are a quick, healthy, and satisfying lunch option combining creamy avocado, lean turkey, and soft tortillas. Perfect for busy weekdays or meal prep, they offer a fresh and wholesome flavor with minimal fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas (whole wheat preferred for extra fiber)
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced turkey breast (deli-sliced or freshly cooked)
  • 1 large ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 4 tablespoons low-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, washed and dried (optional)
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 50 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional extras: thinly sliced red onion, chopped fresh cilantro, or a dash of hot sauce

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe avocado with the softened cream cheese using a fork until creamy but still slightly chunky. Add lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well (about 5 minutes).
  2. Place each tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread an even layer of the avocado mixture over the entire surface, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Lay the turkey slices evenly over the avocado spread on each tortilla, ensuring full coverage but not too thick.
  4. Scatter fresh spinach leaves over the turkey, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top. Add optional extras like red onion or cilantro if desired.
  5. Starting from one edge, carefully roll each tortilla into a tight cylinder, tucking in the filling to prevent gaps. Wrap each roll tightly with plastic wrap.
  6. Chill the wrapped rolls in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to firm up the filling.
  7. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange on a plate for serving or pack into lunch containers.

Notes

Chilling the wraps before slicing is essential to keep them from falling apart. Use lemon juice in the avocado spread to prevent browning. For gluten-free, substitute tortillas with gluten-free wraps or large lettuce leaves. You can swap cream cheese with Greek yogurt for a lighter option and turkey with chicken breast or smoked salmon. Use a serrated knife with a gentle sawing motion to slice cleanly.
