A quick and easy creamy pasta salad made with just three simple ingredients—rotini pasta, ranch dressing, and sharp cheddar cheese. Perfect for summer gatherings, this refreshing side dish is creamy, tangy, and a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz rotini pasta
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 12 oz rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  2. Drain the cooked pasta using a colander and rinse under cold water to stop cooking and cool it down. Let it drain thoroughly.
  3. Transfer the cooled pasta to a large mixing bowl. Pour in 1 cup ranch dressing and add 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
  4. Using a wooden spoon or silicone spatula, gently fold the dressing and cheese into the pasta until everything is evenly coated. Be careful not to mash the pasta.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld and the salad firm up slightly.
  6. Give the salad a quick stir before serving. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

Do not overcook the pasta; al dente texture is best. Rinse pasta with cold water to stop cooking and prevent mushiness. Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting and texture. Chill the salad for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavor. Mix gently to avoid breaking the pasta.
