A simple and flavorful slow cooker recipe using just chicken thighs, honey, and garlic to create tender, juicy chicken with a sweet and savory glaze. Perfect for busy nights or last-minute dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 2 pounds / 900 grams)
  • ½ cup honey (about 170 grams)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to help the sauce stick better (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a small bowl, combine ½ cup honey with 3 cloves of minced garlic and stir until blended (about 2 minutes).
  3. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Use a spoon to spread evenly if needed.
  5. Cook on low for 4 hours without lifting the lid too often.
  6. Check for doneness; chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and be tender.
  7. If a thicker sauce is desired, transfer the liquid to a saucepan and simmer for a few minutes.
  8. Serve warm with spoonfuls of sauce over the chicken.

Notes

Patting the chicken dry helps the sauce stick and caramelize better. Resist lifting the lid during cooking to maintain moisture. For a thicker sauce, simmer the cooking liquid on the stove after slow cooking. Optional broiling for 3-5 minutes after cooking can crisp the skin.
