These quick and easy mummy pigs in a blanket are made with crescent rolls and hot dogs, wrapped to look like little mummies, and served with a spicy mustard dipping sauce. Perfect for Halloween parties, game days, or late-night cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs, each cut into thirds
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes and sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut each hot dog into thirds to make 24 pieces.
  3. Open the crescent roll can, unroll the dough, and separate into 8 triangles. Cut each triangle into 3 long strips (about ½ inch wide and 4-5 inches long).
  4. Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog piece, starting at one end and working to the other, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Tuck the end under the bottom to secure.
  5. Place the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  6. Dip a toothpick into yellow mustard and dot two small eyes onto each mummy’s face.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to make an egg wash. Brush a thin layer over each mummy.
  8. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning if desired.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  10. While baking, make the spicy mustard sauce: In a small bowl, combine ¼ cup yellow mustard, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon honey, ½ teaspoon smoked paprika, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, and a pinch of cayenne. Stir until smooth.
  11. Let the mummies cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a serving plate and serve with the spicy mustard sauce.

Notes

For best results, don’t overwork the dough. Use a toothpick for mustard eyes to avoid blobs. The spicy mustard sauce can be made a day ahead for better flavor. To keep warm for parties, hold in a 200°F oven for up to 30 minutes. For air fryer, cook at 350°F for 6-8 minutes.
