  • 12 oz (340 g) breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley (optional, chopped for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease your 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Open the crescent roll dough and carefully separate it into triangles. Press the triangles together on the bottom and sides of the baking dish to form a crust, ensuring there are no holes.
  3. Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spatula, until no longer pink and starting to crisp, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until fully combined and slightly frothy.
  5. Add the cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese to the egg mixture and stir gently to combine. Mix in Parmesan cheese if using.
  6. Pour the sausage and egg mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust in the baking dish, spreading gently to cover the dough without spilling out.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Brown the sausage thoroughly before baking to avoid soggy texture. Press crescent roll seams tightly to prevent leaks. Use room temperature eggs and milk for even mixing. Tent with foil if browning too quickly but still wobbly inside. Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
