A cozy, caffeine-free, dairy-free latte made with roasted dandelion root tea and creamy oat milk, perfect for warm comforting moments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 teaspoons roasted dandelion root tea or 1 tea bag
  • 1 cup (240 ml) oat milk
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup (240 ml) of water to a boil. Place 2 teaspoons of roasted dandelion root tea or one tea bag into a cup or teapot. Pour the hot water over the tea and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Strain if using loose tea.
  2. While the tea is steeping, warm 1 cup (240 ml) of oat milk in a small saucepan over low to medium heat until hot but not boiling (around 140°F or 60°C). Froth the oat milk using a milk frother, blender, or whisk vigorously by hand for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of maple syrup or honey to the brewed tea and stir until dissolved. Add ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
  4. Pour the sweetened dandelion root tea into a serving mug. Slowly add the frothed oat milk, holding back the foam with a spoon. Spoon the foam on top to create a creamy cap.
  5. Sprinkle a tiny bit of cinnamon or nutmeg on top for garnish. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Avoid overheating oat milk to prevent separation or curdling. Steep dandelion root tea for 5 to 7 minutes for best flavor. Froth oat milk just a few seconds to maintain creamy texture. Sweeten to taste and experiment with warming spices like ginger or cardamom for variation.
